What is Pink Shirt Day? In 2007, two high school students from the small community of Cambridge in Nova Scotia witnessed a Grade 9 boy being bullied for wearing a pink polo shirt. Bullies harassed the boy, for wearing pink and threatened to beat him up. The next day hundreds of students showed up wearing pink clothes to take a stand against the bullies.  It was this story that inspired the movement Pink Shirt Day.

Bullying effects our schools, homes and community.  It can only be addressed by the actions of many.  As we talk about what students can do to prevent themselves or others from being bullied, we show our solidarity by wearing a pink t-shirt.  This year, our school will be selling shirts.  For more information, check out your school day account.
