Park Manor will run a little differently than in the past. Our new beginning as a straight 7 & 8 school, the new provincial math initiatives and a change in our timetable structure will have Park Manor feeling a little different for staff and students.
Aligning ourselves with one hour of mathematics every day, our 48 minute periods are now 30 minute periods. We will have 10 periods a day, 4 periods before the 1st nutrition break (10:30 – 11:10), followed by 4 more periods, followed by the 2nd nutrition break (1:10 – 1:50) and 2 periods after that nutrition break. With the shift in nutrition break times, students will need to make sure that eat during the first nutrition break.
With our change in the day structure (10 period day), we will no longer have a formal homeroom. Our students will have a teacher that will act as a homeroom teacher contact, but will not have a homeroom period.
We also are happy to welcome Ms. Miller! She will become our core French teacher for all of our students. She comes to us from Sir Adam Beck where she taught core French amongst other things.
As you know, our congregated classroom has moved to the high school, and we will miss them terribly. We wish them all the joy and excitement as they enter high school!
For your reference, we have posted the teachers homerooms and extensions for ease of contact. schools.wrdsb.ca/…/Park-Manor-Phone-extensionsweb-2016-2017.pdf
We look forward to catching up with everyone on Tuesday. Welcome back Panthers!
