As we head into our last long weekend of summer, many of our students are as excited to get back to school, as they are to spend one last summer weekend in the sun.  We will be meeting the students behind the school starting at 8:20 a.m. on Tuesday.  We have a new process to find out the class placements of students this year.  On our website there are the steps to follow.  This portal will become active at 5 p.m. on Friday.  Please be aware that there will be 64,000 students across the system accessing that information this weekend.  The volume of traffic may slow down as more people look to find out the homeroom class of their child.  Many factors go into balancing the classes and ensuring that each and every student has the best opportunity to flourish.

It is my sincere pleasure to begin my fourth year here at Park Manor Senior Public School.  We have both the best students and teachers that our region has to offer.  There will be lots for the students to engage in here with a wide variety of sports, bands, and clubs to get involved in this year.  With two additional sections, our staff has grown to include a number of new staff.  Please welcome: Ms. Bagnoriol (Grade 8 LA – Homeroom 84), Ms. Barth (Music & Physical Education, Homeroom partner 84), Ms. Eby (Grade 7 French and LA, Homeroom, 74), Mr. Gesinghaus (Grade 7 LA – Homeroom 73), Mrs. Martin (Grade 7 & 8 Math, Homeroom partner 74), Mme. Passaerelli (Grade 7 French & FI – Homeroom 75) and Ms. Wilson covering for Mr. Phillips (Science) for the first six weeks of the year. We also welcome Mrs. Snider as our Child and Youth Worker.

We do most of our communication through School Day, so if you have a student attending school at Park Manor, please remember to register for our emails.  You can sign up at www.school-day.com .

Information will be going out for our Meet the Teachers event during the second week of September.  Tentatively it will be Wednesday but we are just confirming about the local extra curricular schedules in the area.  Our first School Council night will be Monday September 10th.  It starts at 7 p.m. and we hope that you can join us.

Before we know it, the colours of fall will be upon us and then the snow will fly. The year goes so fast, so let’s get involved to make it a great year!  All the staff at Park Manor welcomes you and your family to our community.
